A Turkish Trek...

Turkey, along with Mexico, is a place I've had an unexplained fascination with since childhood - perhaps I intuited my later interest in the history and ancient sites of these countries.

I eventually got around to visiting Turkey in 2009, staying in the picturesque resort town of KuÅŸadası on the Aegean coast. And one of the main reasons I chose this location was to be close to the striking ancient Greek city of Ephesus. For me, it's on par with both Pompeii and Valle Dei Templi. With its wide streets and glistening marble, grand amphitheatre, numerous temple ruins and the exquisite Library of Celsus, all of which reminded my of the Greece levels in Tomb Raider 1; it remains a truly inspiring place.

I also had time to visit the nearby sites of the Temple of Artemis and House of the Virgin Mary. But there are still places I'd like to explore in this country, in particular the truly ancient complex of Göbekli Tepe  and more of the Anatolia region in general.

Until then, I've compiled some of my best photos along with the extended version of She's Cool, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, which originally featured in the third Tomb Raider game.
